About Me
My name is Rachel Porokhovnik. I was born in the snowed Moscow
of Russia. My favorite occupation in the childhood, was drawing and designing magazines in my notebooks. When i was almost 12 years old, my family moved to Israel. We settled in Jerusalem, where i graduated the Charles Smith high school for arts, at the Plastic Arts Department. I was painting and sculpting and studying the basics of Graphic Design.
After the school, i decided to continue with art, but after studying it for a year, i saw that graphic design interest me much more. So I went in that direction, until finally graduating the Shenkar College for Design & Engineering, at the Interactive Media Design Department.
After graduation, I worked at a small studio in Bnei Brak as a Graphical User Interface designer. Then i moved back to Jerusalem, and continued my career at the UX/UI field. My last job in an office, was at a startup, where i was the only UX/UI Designer.
After i got married, i moved to Rehovot, where i live now. I decided to work from home as a freelancer and dedicate more time to my growing family. I worked for a big startup project, and also made small projects by myself. I gained experience also as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer and an Animator.
In the last four years I mostly worked as a mom to three young children. Now that they are more independent, I am passionate about coming back to work, in my profession, to do my favorite stuff.
In order to catch up with the new tendencies, i took a UX/UI course at Netcraft Academy.
I am looking foreword to new challenges!
